Product information "Caldera (Fra) - Mithra, DigiCD"
Caldera is a French quartet that releases their second album called ‘Mithra’. Just two long spun out songs of doom instrumental pleasure. It reminds me strongly of Pelican. But Caldera is more: it is more than the usual highs and lows in post core metal, it is more than the sound of the seas and the volcanoes erupting. The non-emotional whole sounds heavier than anticipated and than is mainly the big plus of this album that Caldera thanks Billy Anderson for, who did a helluva job here. I mostly feel like that this music could be cut into several shorter sublime tracks, but I do not feel that with ‘Lithogenicvs’ and ‘Sacrificivm’. No, they grasp you by the throat and drag you through sound-seas of oozing mellow. Impressive experience. [82/100 - lordsofmetal.nl]
