Temple of Pain is the new project set up by Fabio “Thunder” Bellan, most known as guitarist, voice and founder of Thunderstorm, the now established Italian doom metal band alive since 1998. The band recently released its fifth album and it’s been praised by public and critics on international ground but this new work, differently from the Thunderstorm strongly bends to the purest and most true doom metal with no possible influence from any other genre. Fabio Thunder’s first release, titled Lord of the undead knights offers 5 tracks for a total length of 32 minutes and it was composed, recorded and mixed entirely by the author himself. Fabio indeed, through this work states his abilities as a sound technician and producer, which are to be added to his musician talent, more than ever here displayed. It was early Spring 2009 when Fabio actively started to develop his idea of a band which could sound as epic, gloomy and grave as possible; in less than one year, by February 2010, the first work of the brand new “Thunder Studio” was finished. The CD was recorded with the collaboration of a variety of guests, faces pretty much known on the Italian scene. A proper line-up is being defined in view of a tour which will take live on stage the easily detectable and perceivable sound power already palpable at a first approach to the first work. In Lord of the Undead Knights in fact the author shows his very nature and his personal taste through the search of sound and themes he feels dear, the result is a good blend of distorted sounds, slow rhythmic and fast tracks taking the listener to dark and graveyard atmospheres.
